ABSTRACT: The impact of outdoor adventure programs on early childhood development has garnered increasing attention in educational and psychological research. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of these programs on the cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional development of young children. The objectives were to (1) determine the cognitive benefits of outdoor adventure activities, (2) assess the physical development outcomes associated with regular participation, and (3) examine the enhancement of socio-emotional skills through outdoor engagement. A survey design was employed for its efficacy in gathering comprehensive data from diverse participants. A sample size of 150 children aged 4-6 years was selected using purposive sampling, ensuring that participants had engaged in structured outdoor adventure programs for at least six months. The study focused on participants from Kaduna State, utilizing local adventure programs as the case study. Findings indicated significant improvements in cognitive functions such as problem-solving and critical thinking, enhanced physical abilities including coordination and balance, and notable advancements in socio-emotional development, particularly in teamwork and self-confidence. Recommendations included the integration of outdoor adventure programs into early childhood curricula and the provision of training for educators to effectively facilitate these activities.
